Out on the wily, windy moors…

Less than two centuries ago, in small village in West Yorkshire, three sisters penned novels that would upend Victorian respectability, leaving an indelible mark on literature and the gothic in the process. They were the Brontë sisters; their names were Charlotte, Emily, and Anne.

What is Brontë Bites?

Inspired by other classic literature subscription services (Dracula Daily; Les Mis Letters), Brontë Bites will send you two chapters of a Brontë novel every week, starting with Wuthering Heights.

Why should I subscribe?

Whilst you could read any of these novels by yourself, at your own pace, some people find being sent smaller chunks bit by bit helps them commit to reading. Also, reading alongside others can foster discussion - basically, online book clubs can be fun!

When does it start?

Chapter I of Wuthering Heights will be emailed out on 29th July 2024. New chapters will follow every Monday and Thursday thereafter, until the novel concludes in late November.

Where can I find other readers?

Brontë Bites is brand new. That said, we'll be posting anything Brontë themed we can find on Tumblr (@brontebites) and have set up a Discord server for chit chat, analysis, memes, and whatever else takes your fancy! Please feel free to pop in and say hi!

What do I do if I join after 29th July?

You can check our archive for all previous chapters, to help get you up to date with our read-through!

What will we be reading next?

That's yet to be decided! Closer to the time, and depending on Brontë Bites’ popularity, a community vote on which novel we should send out next will be held.

29th July isn't here yet. What can I do in the meantime?
